2011-2012 The Suzuki SX4 Sportback

The Suzuki SX4 has a pleasant chunky look, with rugged wheelarch and side skirt extensions and a raised ride height. SX4 cabin shares its basic look with the Japanese manufacturer's other recent models, such as the Swift. The front end shares more of a family look with Fiat, while the view from the sides is reminiscent of the Daihatsu Terios mini off-roader.

2011 The Suzuki-Solio

The company was originally founded in 1909 by Michio Suzuki as the Suzuki Loom Company that manufactured weaving looms for Japan's silk industry. For the first 30 years of the company's existence, the manufacturing was focused on the development of these looms and their distribution worldwide. Michio Suzuki also filed as many as 120 patents of different products during his time with the company. The company's first motor vehicle was manufactured and distributed to the public in 1955. It was called the 'Suzulight' and was a lightweight car as evidenced by its name.

The Wagon R will get an overhaul this year. The Solio that Maruti showcased at the Auto Expo this year is an indicator to things of the future. The reworked Wagon R will have more legroom and a new face as well. I expect a diesel to be slotted in when Suzuki is ready with Fiat's 1.3-litre Multijet.

In researching the 2011 Suzuki Equator

In researching the 2011 Suzuki Equator, we found that reviewers really put it through its compact pickup paces. Reviewers took it deer hunting (they didn’t report if they bagged anything), towed boats, used it to haul ATVS and took it off-road. The consensus? The Equator is a god truck for active, outdoorsy people.

The new engine will have the bore size of 95.5 mm, stroke of 92.0 mm and compression ratio of 9.7 with four valves per cylinder, variable valve timing and double overhead cam. The price range of the new model will be between $17,220-$30,000. The Suzuki Equator will be a midsize pickup truck that comes with all the basic safety and entertainment features.

The only engine residing beneath that power-dome hood for now is a willing 2.4-liter aluminum four good for 185 horses with a standard 6-speed manual transaxle, or five ponies fewer with the available continuously variable transmission (CVT). Rare in this size and price class, the option of Suzuki's latest "intelligent" all-wheel drive (i-AWD) can improve both bad-weather traction and cornering capability. The systems constantly variable front-to-rear torque split is a function of a number of factors, including wheel slippage, throttle and steering input.

The Kizashi is a five-passenger, four-door sedan that will compete against the likes of the Toyota Camry, Ford Fusion, Chevrolet Malibu and Honda Accord. Available in front or all wheel drive, the sedan evokes European styling while trumpeting Japanese quality.

An even more aggressive Concept Kizashi 2 followed at the October Tokyo Motor Show then a third variation debuted at the March, 2008 New York Auto Show. This one, Concept Kizashi 3, was much tamer and more production-realistic. It looked, in fact, a lot like the real thing is now hitting the market and demonstrated Suzuki was serious about taking on the well-established entries in the U.S. market's most competitive car class. Inside, the fits and materials are generally good, though not up to typical Euro-sedan standards, and the seats are handsome and nicely supportive with available leather trim. The instrument panel's major gauges have a precision look: Its faux brushed-aluminum-rimmed center stack mirrors the front grille's rounded-V shape, and its controls are intuitively easy to see, reach and operate. We especially appreciated the nicely padded three-spoke steering wheel with handy spoke-mounted audio and other controls.

Largest Sedan For Suzuki

The Kizashi is different from previous Suzuki models for a number of reasons, most particularly as it will become the largest car sold by the automaker. Long dependent on compact cars as well as sport/utility vehicles for its fleet, the Kizashi will go far in helping retain customers who want more interior room but aren't interested in an SUV or crossover vehicle. Notably, the midsize segment is the most competitive of all car categories, for the simple reason that it is the standard "family car" that buyers want. Without an entry in this segment, Suzuki has been losing sales to its competitors, a glaring omission that the Kizashi will remove.

The Suzuki Equator, most reviewers

Equator Exterior - 8.0 (Very Good):Reviewers say the 2011 Suzuki Equator looks like the Nissan Frontier, but that's not a bad thing. Reviewers also like that the Equator has an in-bed cargo system, which includes a factory-installed spray-in bed liner, as well as adjustable cargo tie downs.
Equator Interior - 6.9 (Mediocre):Most people don’t buy a compact truck for their interiors. The Suzuki Equator, most reviewers say, has a basic interior that makes it easy to get out and enjoy the great outdoors, but doesn’t offer a lot of incentives for staying in the truck. Easy-to-clean materials and basic features help the Equator meet, but not exceed, the needs of most compact truck buyers.
