2011 The Volvo XC60 comes in three trims

In true Volvo tradition, the seats are well-shaped, supportive and comfortable with those in the front offering a useful range of adjustment. The rear compartment boasts reasonable if not commodious legroom, and the nicely contoured seat should provide three average-sized adults with cozy but comfortable travel. The 40:20:40 split/fold seat gives a flat load floor when the one-touch release levers are operated.

Diehard Volvo fans – the ones who idolize the boxy Volvos of the 1980s – probably won’t care much for the 2011 Volvo XC60. Unlike past Volvos, the XC60 actually fits in with other luxury compact SUVs and its sleek, Euro styling looks better than most of the competition. The XC60 even wins extra points for its comfortable, family-friendly cabin and good performance with its available turbocharged engine. What might end up winning over old-school Volvophiles are the XC60s crash test scores, which are so good that Insurance Institute of Highway Safety named it a “Top Safety Pick.”

2011 Volvo XC60 is off-roader cars

XC 60 is offered with wide variety of attractive shades which include cosmic white, Passion Red, Barents Blue, Electric Silver, Terra Bronze, Black Stone, Flamenco Red, Seashell, Black Sapphire, Seville Grey, Silver, Chameleon Blue, Lime Grass Green and Ice white.

Since bringing the utilitarian off-roader into the family leisure market, car makers have striven to style it and tailor it to offer the broadest appeal, with varying degrees of success. Some try a 4x4/MPV cross, while others go for a more laid-back SUV image. There's even been an attempt by a premium car maker at trying to turn its large SUV into a sleek sports coupe, with notably unsleek, nay, grotesque, results!

Test drivers the 2010 Volvo XC70 performs

XC70 Performance - 7.5 (Good):Test drivers report that the 2010 Volvo XC70 performs well on and off the road -- as long as it doesn't venture too far off-road. Some complain that the Volvo XC70's base trim lacks power. "The 2010 Volvo XC70 has a smooth and refined ride befitting its premium status," writes Edmunds. "Don't expect to have any fun, however, as the XC70's light steering, ample body roll and elevated center of gravity make it feel less nimble than past Volvo wagons

Back in the year 1998, the Volvo XC70 first made its debut and was introduced to the motoring public. And during that time, this particular vehicle was known to be the very first vehicle model in the Volvo line up that comes with four wheels that can be driven.

An aggressive front fascia adds a sporty feel to the XC70's demeanor, while helpful features such as an optional power tailgate confirm the XC70's premium luxury-car

Volvo's XC70 crossover SUV offers a choice of two six-cylinder engines for 2010. The base 3.2 AWD has a normally aspirated 3.2-liter engine, while the T6 AWD comes standard with a turbocharged 3.0-liter version.

2011 The Volvo S40

If you enjoy being the reclined front-seat passenger, you'll not like Volvo's whiplash-prevention seats. The headrests are canted forward at an angle that becomes more annoying the more you recline. Volvo wants you to sit up straight. And eat your peas. There are all the other usual Volvo safety things in the S40: air bags, air curtains, side bags for the front seats, a latching system for kid seats, and even a rear foglight to help prevent you from being rear-ended. We ponied up $300 for the two built-in outboard rear booster seats. Kids love the seats, which are a snap to flip into place. But senior editor Joe Lorio wants to know why there isn't one in the safest, center position.

The 2011Volvo S40 surely looks wonderful

Horbury is now trying to slap Ford design into shape, while Volvo Cars design director Steve Mattin keeps the fires burning. The new Volvo S40 surely looks wonderful, even more so than its parts-bin cousin, the Mazda 3. But even though the S40 lit a spark in our collective campfire when we first drove it, we needed to live with one to be sure that Volvo truly had made the great leap from sturdy appliance to desirable, sporting sedan.

Recently, the five passenger Volvo S40 sedan was awarded the "What Car?" magazine Green Car of the Year award because the compact car emits fewer pollutants than comparable vehicles while delivering an admirable 31 mpg on the highway despite utilizing a highly potent 2.5L I5 engine. These two attributes are important for people who want to drive an earth friendly car, but still want style, technology and fun driving appeal, a rare combination for any green car.

2011 Volvo S40 keeps the exterior changes

The 2011 Volvo S40 keeps the exterior changes it received in 2008 when Volvo smoothed out its "literal and figurative rough edges," as Edmunds calls them. Auto writers still approve of the 2011 S40's crisp style that mimics other upscale small cars.

In order to achieve emissions levels comparable to the world's most popular hybrid model, the Toyota Prius, Volvo added an important engineering feature with the S40 - start/stop technology. This particular characteristic shuts off the engine when a driver comes to a standstill (such as at a traffic light), shifts the transmission into neutral, and presses the clutch. When the light turns green, the driver steps on the clutch which automatically reactivates the engine, allowing him to shift and be on his way. Start/Stop technology is what makes the gas powered S40 a favorite of the "What Car?" crowd, giving drivers the best of both worlds - raw performance along with earth friendly drivingVolvo C30 S40 V50 DRIVe2011 Volvo S40 keeps the exterior changes
