2012 Hyundai Veloster to "a 4-passenger Honda CRX,"
CEO Krafcik likens the 2012 Hyundai Veloster to "a 4-passenger Honda CRX," referencing the iconic, affordable Civic-based 2-seat coupes of the 1980s and '90s that helped ignite the urban "tuner-car" culture. "It'll be a little car you can take out and ring its neck and still get good mileage," he promises. If nothing else, the Veloster should complement the larger, rear-drive Genesis Coupes as a more-affordable youth-magnet Hyundai. Considering this automaker's recent track record, that could be a very good thing.

2012 Hyundai Veloster Review and Prices
As for the rest of it, the 2012 Hyundai Veloster should offer all the comfort, convenience, cosmetic, and crash-protection features expected in affordable sportsters and perhaps a few more. Front-side and curtain-side airbags will naturally be standard, along with air conditioning, a decent stereo, the now-obligatory music-player connection, snazzy cloth upholstery, metal-look accent trim, a split-fold rear seat, and probably power locks and mirrors.

Options should include the above-mentioned navigation system, plus leather upholstery, keyless entry/engine start, high-power audio, and maybe rear-obstacle detection (suggested by prototype sightings). We also expect a raft of Mini-style "personalization" options including jazzy exterior graphics, plus a sport package or two with racy body addenda, more-aggressive suspension tuning and perhaps a throaty low-restriction exhaust system.
* MSRP: $17,025 -$22,525
* Invoice: $16,338 -$21,085

Detail Interior 2011 Hyundai' Curb Concept cars
The Curb, which is the seventh vehicle (hence the HCD-12 codename) to be designed at the company’s California Design Center, is motivated by a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with direct injection tech, mated to Hyundai's Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) [wonder what the VW Group has to say about the abbreviation...]. The force-fed motor develops 175 horsepower and 169 lb. ft. of torque. Hyundai said that by adding Idle Stop and Go (ISG) technology, the Curb would deliver 30+ mpg in the city and 40+ mpg on the highway.

The Nuvis, which is yet to be launched in the mainstream market, is the eleventh signature car by the California Design Center located in Irvine. This futuristic car blends the best of attributes of a long urban car and luxury utility vehicle. Hyundai has pledged to become the market leader by 2015 in the U.S where fuel economy is concerned. In the 2010 New York Auto Show Hyundai will unveil a Hybrid Blue Drive model featuring a four cylinder Theta II turbocharged GDI engine with 2.0-liter capacity. After the tremendous success of Sonata in New York, Hyundai is further aiming to be most fuel efficient vehicle manufacturer in the world.

Hyundai Equus luxury car with a price tag as high as $40,000
The success of the Hyundai Genesis sedan, however, has the Korean automaker thinking big. If Americans will embrace the Genesis as a Hyundai luxury car with a price tag as high as $40,000, some ask, what's to stop them from embracing a more luxurious model a step up the food chain wearing a Hyundai badge?

Give Hyundai credit. In the teeth of strong competition from Asian and American automobile manufacturers, the South Korean auto giant has managed to carve out a niche for itself in the hyper-competitive US auto market. Twenty years after the Excel Pony was introduced at the budget price of $3750, Hyundai has upgraded its line up and now sells small and medium models, sporty cars, and a pair of SUVs.
