The story of Maclaren begain in 1965 with Owen Maclaren's development and patenting of the first Baby Buggy. He used his experience as a World War II airplane designer and engineer and vast understanding of light but sturdy structures that could still be folded easily to develop his first baby carriage models. His desire to create a better carraige was also influenced by a visit from his daughter who had to use a very inconvenient old-style 'pram' that was nearly impossible to use on airplanes. This inspired him to create a completely new generation of baby carriages and strollers.

What entrepreneur in another country could take this idea and turn it into an export business? Authorities in New Delhi plan to export cow dung and urine to the United States.
Produced by the thousands of stray cattle on the city's roads, the dung will be processed into compost and the urine converted into a biopesticide. Officials say the initiative is intended not only to earn money but also to address the problem of the city's 35,000 stray cows.
